As you can see in the photos below, travel didnt happen exactly to plan.After the ash from Pocaya closed the airport we quickly realised that we needed to make alternative plans.
Instead of an amazing day planned in Antigua [have to go next time!] 6 of us attendees took a 5 hour bus ride to El Salvador in the start of cyclone Agatha, through some of the worst roads I have experienced and the border check point.
Arrived to San Salvador, checked into a comfy hotel and tucked into a great meal...a welcome end to an adventurous day for all.

good feeling getting out of El Salvador on Saturday morning....it poured down all night...420mm to be exact. I was literally the only passenger not taking a bag of Pallo Campero [deep fried chicken goodness] into the U.S
